Hello again, I hope you are finding everything you are looking for on our web site. Since you are on this page, you are obviously interested in getting to know more about me and my qualifications; so let's get started!
I feel so lucky to have found my passion in Real Estate and cannot wait to get up and start each day. I am a full-time Realtor and absolutely love it! I enjoy being challenged and find in this industry I learn something new every day. But the best part about it, is meeting new people and being a part of something BIG..and buying or selling a home is a big deal! I feel like the luckiest girl in the world and eat, sleep and breathe real estate!
I was born in Independence, MO but raised in a small town down southeast of Kansas City called Warsaw, MO. While growing up in a small town was a wonderful experience, a girl with big dreams found the big city calling her name so I moved back to the Jackson County area in 1987 and have been here since. Even though I have been citified, it is true what they say "you can take the girl out of the country but you cannot take the country out of the girl", so don't be surprised when I show up to our appointment in my blue jeans and tennis shoes. Anyway, back to how I came to be a Realtor.
I was working at a printing company as their office manager and had gone back to school to get my bachelor's degree. I was about 6 months from graduating from Park University when the company I worked for was bought out. The new company came in and took all of the equipment and accounts, but none of the employees. With a grueling fulltime schedule at school, I wasn't sure what to do. My Mom and Aunt both worked in the mortgage industry (my Aunt as a loan officer; my Mom as a loan processor), and they suggested taking a position as a loan officer. They said "you are great with numbers; great with people and the schedule is flexible so you will be able to work around your classes." So away I went.
I finished my studies at Park University; graduating Suma Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management and another in Computer Information Systems. My intent was to secure another management position in the computer industry. However, during that 6 months while I was working in the real estate industry, what I figured out was that I had found my calling. I absolutely loved it! Everyday brought something new, sometimes good, sometimes not so good...but I was always learning and being challenged. From my first position as a loan officer, I worked my way up to trainer; then regional manager of Gold Star Home Mortgage covering Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma. I eventually opened my own net branch of Premier Mortgage Funding.
In 2009 I left the industry due to life changing events. I took an adminstrative position, and was completely unfilled and bored to tears. I was out of the industry until 2011 when I met the Broker/Owner of Home Sweet Home Realty, Kelly Sloan. Kelly was looking for someone to help her out in the office part-time and I was looking for some part-time work. Here is where part two of my story began. I had always missed being in the business and questioned my decision to leave. When I started working for Home Sweet Home Realty it reinforced how much I missed the real estate industry. It is truly like no other business and once it is in your blood, you are hooked! So I got my Realtor license, joined Home Sweet Home Realty as a full time Real Eastate Agent Extraordinaire!
As each year went by, business continued to grow and in 2017 Sam-I-Am & Associates was formed. We are a full service real estate team made up of Carla Boster, a 30 year veteran, and Raina Mize, our lovely assistant who has been with me since 2014. Our team moved to Premium Realty Group LLC and joined forces with Amy Arndorfer and her crew... and continue to do what we love every single day!
Now that you know how I got here, let me tell you a bit about my work ethic. I am your typical over achiever always striving to be the best of the best. I do this by providing exceptional customer service and continuing my education so I am always up to date on industry standards. Not only am I a licensed Realtor in Missouri and Kansas, but my repertoire includes being licensed in property and casualty and a commissioned notary. I am very organized and live by my daily "to do" lists. I am the hardest worker I know and take ownership in everything I do. However, I would say one of my best qualities is that I tell it like it is. I may not always tell you what you want to hear, but I will always give you my honest opinion because I truly have your best interest at heart.
Feel free to give me a ring or shoot me an email, I would love to get to know you and help you with any of your Real Estate needs!
